It was a hot, summer evening. Ali was resting in his room. Suddenly, his mother popped in. She asked if he could bring her some eggs and cheese from the market. Before he left, his mother advised him not to buy anything else.
Ali left for the market. When he reached there, he spotted an ice-cream shop. His mouth watered in the sweltering heat. He decided to buy an ice-cream first and then purchase the groceries. However, after buying and enjoying the ice-cream, the money fell short, and he was afraid that his mother would be very angry with him.
While Ali was still trying to figure out what to do, he met his friend Assim. Assim asked if Ali would like to come to his house. Upon reaching Assim’s house, Ali greeted Assim’s mother and went upstairs to his room. Assim asked Ali if he was upset. Ali told Assim the whole situation. Assim thought for a moment and then advised him to seek his mother’s forgiveness. Surely, it wasn’t such a bad case.
When Ali went home, he went to his mother’s room and told her what he had done. His mother kept quiet for a while. But after some time, she forgave Ali and said: “I am very happy that you told me the truth, and I am sure that you will never break my trust again.”
Ali decided that next time, he will stick to his budget. For extra treats, he should ask his mother in advance. After all, super markets are tempting places.
