Dr. Rania Amr Elwani is a three-time Olympian in swimming, who has been named as the “golden fish” by the Egyptian media. She was a champion for elevan years in a row, while holding all the records. She is the first Arab woman to make it to the finals of the Olympic Games in swimming. She is also a successful manager in various Egyptian sports fields.
In swimming, Dr. Elwni participated in the 1992, 1996, and 2000 Olympics. She has represented Egypt in many international competitions, including world championships. Her record includes more than 77 international medals. Her records still stand to-date in the sprint freestyle events. She has been awarded a number of honors internationally. Apart from being a world-class swimming champion, Dr. Elwani is also a medical doctor specialized in obstetrics and gynecology.
