- When things don’t turn out to be your way.
Know that it’s Allah’s (swt) test. Of course, there will be someone or some situation responsible for it… But do not blame. Do not complain. Do not be bitter.
Take a pause. Take a deep breath. Fall into Sajda and ask Allah (swt) to grant you the strength to accept a different plan of life with willingness and a content heart.
- When people hurt you.
Think of so many people who love you. They are far more than the ones who cause trouble.
They may have their reasons for behaving in a negative manner. Obviously, they are far from Allah’s (swt) guidance. They are locked up inside their own emotions and are insensitive to others.
Take a pause. Take a deep breath. Fall into Sajda and ask Allah (swt) to fill your life with more positive people and grant you the strength to walk past the negative ones with a content heart.
- When an aspect of a new life scares you.
You took care of all the responsibilities so far in life with grace, be it education, career, or relationships. Now Allah (swt) is opening a new door of opportunity to stretch further. This will be your level next.
Take a pause. Take a deep breath. Fall into Sajda and ask Allah (swt) for wisdom and perseverance in granting you a different set of coping skills for your new life ahead.
- When you feel sad and frustrated.
In the fluster of events of a typical wedding, things can become over whelming and tempers can flare up for no reason.
Take a pause. Take a deep breath. Fall into Sajda and ask Allah (swt) to make you a grateful and humble servant of His.
Thank your parents for spending their time, expenses, energy, love and entire life for your well being. Give them the best of you, before you fly away from the nest – your smile, support and approval of all their tireless efforts to make your marriage blissful.
- When you still cannot be happy.
Shaitan blurs our blessings for us to make us ungrateful towards Allah (swt) and our loved ones. He plants seeds of self pity or arrogance in our being.
Take a pause. Take a deep breath. Fall into Sajda and recognize how Shaitan has deceived you from being happy and content in your heart. Do not let him ruin your relationships for things that are material and people who do not matter.
In the end, the struggle is yours and the victory belongs to Allah (swt) alone. If you are a Muslim, you are already far too blessed to complain. The game plan is to treat the world as a temporary place, where we have to offer permanent Sabr and permanent Shukr. There is no other state to be in. Allah (swt) will honour you, guide you and bless you with a loving and content soul, in sha Allah.
