Can grown-ups make fun of kids?

Hmm… grown-ups are meant to take care of kids, help them learn great new stuff, and teach them the difference between right and wrong. That doesn’t leave them any choice to make fun of children. Likewise, kids should listen to and respect their elders. If they disagree, or are feeling angry or sad, they need to learn to tell their closest grown-up (parent, teacher, or grandparent) about it along with the reason they are feeling this way.

We see that Prophet Muhammad (sa) was very encouraging towards young people. The youth is more responsive to the truth than the elders – the majority of the Prophet’s (sa) followers were young and strong in faith.

Usamah ibn Zaid (rtam) had not yet reached the age of twenty when Rasulullah (sa) ordered him to head an army. Usamah (rtam) led older Sahabah such as Abu Bakr as-Siddeeq (rtam), Umar ibn al-Khattab (rtam), and a large number of elderly Muhajirun and Ansar.
