Emaan Danish is a nine-year-old blogger, presenter, environmental activist, and entrepreneur; founder of Emaanz Peekaboo.
Hibakidz spoke to Emaan more about her efforts of saving the Earth, and here is what she has to say…
What is your childhood like?
It’s full of fun. I have been a homeschooler since last year, therefore I have the liberty to read and learn whatever I want to and I’m not bound to any curriculum. I am preparing to appear in O’Level exams in a couple of years and I will be 12 then. I love to play board games, write stories, and spend time with my best friend Maheera. I love making innovative chocolates too with my Mom’s help.
How did you come up with such an amazing idea?
When I was 7 year old, I joined Nest I/O summer entrepreneurship programme. Since then, I have been working on various eco-friendly projects. Last year, I got an opportunity to attend Climate Launchpad Boot Camp, which turned out to be the turning point for my project. My project got a direction and now I am focused towards making eco-friendly dolls and a learning management system for climate change education with the help of my father. The LMS is supported by selling Fizza, Pakistani cultural doll and it’s free for all Pakistani kids.
Who has been your inspiration?
Frans Nauta, Founder of Climate Launchpad and Jehan Ara, the big bird at Nest I/O.
Can you tell us a little about your project ‘Emaanz Peekaboo’ and your doll ‘Fizza’?
My project is all about amazing world of Fizza and has 4 components:
- Fizza and allied products; Fizza is the first Pakistani eco-friendly doll.
- Blended LMS, which we have named Earth Warrior Pakistan, for climate education. It offers free certified climate education for Pakistani kids.
- Peekaboo TV, a YouTube channel with climate content only.
- Fizza Climate Stories, a climate stories book series.
Hiba has come up with tote bags and environmentally friendly pouches to discourage plastic bags. Would you like to collaborate with such organizations to endorse your mission?
Yes, for sure
Allah (swt) entrusted us with a beautiful world, but humans have abused it. Can Imams in the mosques educate the public? After all, Muslims are vicegerents of the earth according to the Quran.
Allah has blessed us with a beautiful world and our Imams should take the lead in educating people.
What are your plans for the future?
I plan to expand my outreach through a blended LMS to the kids around the globe
How can other children of your age support your cause?
They can join Earth Warrior Pakistan by following only three simple steps:
- Sign in (https://emaanzpeekaboo.org/)
- Register to any module you want to
- Take the course, get your certificate, and be an Earth Warrior Pakistan
