Rehen Sehen is one of the five inspirational projects functioning under Al Wasila. Al Wasila Trust was founded by Brother Asim Ismail, whose background in academics and entrepreneurship has greatly benefited the project. Asim Ismail is the founder and principal of Fajr Academy – a revolutionary schooling system in Karachi.
Rehen Sehen was created to provide opportunities for Muslims to help fellow Muslims. It began operating in Karachi in 2017. After providing jobs through Rozgar and healthcare through Markaz-e-Shifa, the need to venture the next important area of household was felt. The objective was to provide for all aspects of an individual’s living.
Providing food ration was not included in the initial plan. But due to the dedication of people, funds were provided and food ration was sold at a reduced cost of 60%.
An organized effort of a team of twelve, Rehen Sehen provides opportunity to individuals who want to give out anything. The team sends out a collector, who takes the items to the warehouse where it is refurbished and made as good as new. Next, it is exhibited in the showroom and sold at an 80% discount. Any and every item from a needle to an elephant is welcomed.
Rehen Sehen is the only organization in Karachi that works in the household area as per the rising needs of the metropolis. With zero support from any government organization, the team commits to provide a flawless system for the distribution of the re-furbished goods. Anyone who wishes to benefit can apply by filling the Rehen Sehen form. The application takes approximately a week to ten days to be verified. Each applicant is given a card that is valid for a year, after which it is renewed for another year.
Rehen Sehen currently has three warehouses and two operating showrooms in Tariq Road and Malir (Karachi). These showrooms provide an easy approach to the buyers to buy goods in the most respectable way.
The masses of Karachi have welcomed this state of the art project whole heartedly. The novel idea of refurbishing and making goods available to the specific public that otherwise cannot afford the luxuries has tempted them to donate generously. As per weekly statistics, Rehen Sehen receives goods from three to four households. Sometimes, the donated goods from a single household equal a bulk of containers.
However, the need of such an opportunity for both the buyers and the donors is not restricted to Karachi only. This is the very reason why Rehen Sehen aims to expand their noble cause to other cities of Pakistan.
hiba prays for the success of Rehen Sehen.
