Khawlah (ra) was a wise woman. We learn this not only from how she handled her trial, but also from the advice that she gave to Umar ibn Al-Khattab (ra).

Khawlah (ra) was a wise woman. We learn this not only from how she handled her trial, but also from the advice that she gave to Umar ibn Al-Khattab (ra).

She was the daughter of Yazid ibn Sakan and Aqrab bint Muath. Saad ibn Muath (ra), a close companion of the Prophet (sa) was her maternal uncle. Her husband was Qais ibn Khateem. Lets look into glimpses of her life and draw important lessons.

“And whosoever honours the Symbols of Allah, then it is truly from the piety of the heart,” (22:32)

Prophet Muhammad (sa) said: “Surely the hearts rust like iron.” People inquired: “How can it be polished?” He said: “By remembering death and reciting the Quran.” (Al-Bayhaqi)
