- Allah (swt) is perfect. He is free from all imperfections and deficiencies.
- Allah (swt) gave this pure gift of Salam to Adam (as). When He had created Adam, Allah said: “Go and greet them (a group of angels who were sitting) and listen to how they respond, for that will be your greeting and the greeting of your descendants.” So He said: “Assalamu Alaikum.” And they said: “Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullah.” The angels added the word: “Warahamatullah.” (Bukhari and Muslim)
- Salam is Allah’s (swt) name send down to the Earth as a gift. We can give this gift to each other when we say: “Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuhu (May the peace and the mercy of Allah be upon you).” The response to it is: “Walaikum Assalam Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuhu (And Allah keep His mercy and peace on you).
- أَفْشُوا السَّلاَمَ تَسْلَمُوا،Spread the gift of Salam and be peaceful yourself. Say Salam at the beginning and at the end of conversation, and when entering your home even if the house is empty. Say Salam to the ones you know and to strangers; to elders as well as children; even to enemies and whom you despise because Salam is the source of peace and love – it removes such impurities as jealousy and arrogance from our hearts.

- Salam will be said, while crossing over Sirat, a bridge over hellfire that is thinner than a hair and sharper than a sword that we will have to cross. All the prophets would be calling: “Allahumma Salim” (Oh Allah, save us; Oh Allah, give us peace).
- As-Salam has prepared Darussalam (Jannah) for his peace-loving slaves who exhibit peace through their deeds: they don’t lie, make fun, backbite, gossip, or break promises, as all these actions destroy our relationships with people. As-Salam has sent Islam for the Muslims who do not hurt anyone with their tongue or hands.
- As-Salam will send his Salam to the dwellers of Darussalam and everyone will greet each other with Salam. (Ya-Sin 36:58)
