If I Were… (Poem)

If I were a mule

I would kick everyone in school,

If I were an emu

My homework I would chew,

If I were a bird

I wouldn’t learn a word,

If I were a bug

I would swim in the Principal’s jug,

If I were a hideous creature

I would spook away all the teachers,

But Alhumdulillah I am a Muslim, and I know my place

I am preparing to meet Allah (swt) and see His Face,

Thank the Lord that I am not a mule or an emu or a bird or a bug or a creature

So good news for my school, the Principal, and my teachers!
