In the Cold

In the cold, windy blizzard,

There are plenty of sleepy lizards;

Wood frogs stop to breathe,

Their heart actually stops to beat.

Ice crystals form around them,

The summer heat later defrosts them.

Deer mice hibernate from morning to noon,

They hunt for food, when up rises the moon,

Squirrels dig underground different rooms

For food, sleep and yes some bathrooms.

It’s nippy, it’s frosty, it’s chilly, it’s cold –

Allah’s (swt) countless blessings to behold.
