Abiha Salman runs a business by the name of “Handy Station”.
What is your venture about?
I knit things and then sell them. I invest some of my earnings in a social cause and some of the amount is reinvested in my entrepreneurial project.
How did you come up with this idea?
I took part in a workshop on entrepreneurship at “Learners’ Resource Galaxy” and got an assignment, in which I had to design a business plan. At that time, I was learning how to knit, so I thought it would be great to knit and plan my entrepreneurial project.
What do you exactly knit?
I knit different things like baby booties and caps; sometimes I try to knit something unique. For example, I am working on some buntings for Ramadan right now; I knit bookmarks and tea coasters as well. The added benefit for customers is that woollen bookmarks and coasters are washable and hence last longer.
