Deenah Kapadia – A Young Storyteller

Deenah Kapadia is a youthful story narrator for Hibakidz’s Youtube videos.

Hibakidz spoke to Deenah to discover more about her passion, and here is what she has to say…

Can you please introduce yourself to our readers?

Salam everyone! My name is Deenah Kapadia, I am a student of Grade-7 at Haque Academy.

Have you been inspired by somebody or was it your personal choice to become Hibakidz’s story narrator? 

It was my personal choice to become a narrator and storyteller as I have always loved being a narrator in school plays.

How do you manage your studies along with the job of story narration? 

I am a very organized person and I like to keep a routine. Due to Covid much of my school has been online so it became easier to take out time for story narration along with my studies.

Do you plan your story narration taking into consideration the characters of the story? 

Yes, I absolutely consider the characters before narration. I like to imagine every character’s physical appearance so that I could make a voice or give an expression accordingly.

Masha Allah you have an expressive style. How have you developed yourself to become a narrator? 

My school gave me an opportunity to narrate in plays and also take part in poetry competitions. This helped me develop the skill of speaking confidently and with expressions.

Do you intend to pursue this as a career in the future? If not, what do you aspire to become? 

I would like to continue with story narration as a hobby but I would like to be in the creative profession which I am still deciding upon and exploring my avenues.
